The Northern College is located approximately three miles from Barnsley, within the magnificent House of Wentworth Castle, which is the a Grade 1 listed house of historical importance and also sits within the only Grade 1 Listed Parkland and Garden in South Yorkshire. It is set within 60 acres of Grade 1 listed gardens, which contain the national collection of many varieties of rhododendron, camellia and magnolias. In May and June each year, their
dazzling blooms attract many visitors and provide a tranquil retreat during breaks from activities. With a high quality catering service, ample car parking, childcare provision, on-site residential accommodation and free access to the wonderful gardens, the Northern College offers an excellent venue at competitive prices.

The College can accommodate up to 90 delegates for conferences and seminars in both Wentworth Castle and the Home Farm Conference Centre.
These rooms include the Blue Room, Conference Room, and the Old Library, The Long Barn and St James' Hall. All rooms have OHP, Screen and Flip chart, TV/Video/DVD as standard equipment. All other audio/visual equipment is available through our advanced booking procedure.
Within the magnificent Long Gallery in Wentworth Castle, the Library and Learning Resources Centre, previously known as The Long Gallery, combines a coveted traditional library atmosphere with state-of-the-art information technology infrastructure.
The Library is situated at the front of The House, overlooking the parkland, spanning the whole of the Baroque wing. Well worth a visit if only to see the splendour of this magnificent, majestic, marble pillared gallery.
