Course description
By completing the qualification, learners will develop in-depth knowledge of behaviour that challenges which could support progression onto other appropriate qualifications and into relevant employment in the health and social care sector. This qualification would be valuable to learners already working in education and health and social care settings.
Course content
The course typically takes 12-14 weeks to complete and would require approx. 8hrs of self-directed study time per week to complete the relevant reading, research and assessment tasks. You will have access to our online platform that will enable you to study at a convenient time and pace and will be able to contact a relevant subject tutor if support is needed. The course is assessed via a set of written question and answer assessments. There are no exams.
Units studied:
- Understand how to recognise that an individual’s behaviour has the potential to intensify
- Understand legislation and support relevant to behaviours that challenges.
- Understand how to prepare to manage an incident of behaviour that challenges
- Understand how to manage a situation when an individual is acting in a challenging manner
- Understand own role in providing support following an incident of challenging behaviour
