Building on past learning, this course looks more seriously at robots and what they can do, as well as creating more sophisticated programs for the robot to run.

Most of the course content is practical, getting hands on with the computer program that controls the robot.
Combined with other Northern College courses (such as Intro to Programming) this course could lead to the college’s Further Robotics course.
Engaging and/or building confidence
All equipment is provided
No formal requirements; students will be required to have completed the Next Steps in Computers course, or already have digital skills equivalent to those listed in that course’s description. They will also be required to have some experience of programming robots, such as having completed the college’s Robotics with the Microbit course.
This course is fully funded for eligible students
If you are not eligible, the cost of the course is £25.00. If you choose to stay residentially, and you are not eligible via the residential funding assessment, there will be an additional fee to pay. The vast majority of students are eligible to study and stay residentially for free and we will confirm when you apply.
